How to Enable JavaScript and Cookies in Netscape and Internet Explorer

Netscape 4.x Enable Cookies and Javascript

  1. Select Edit from the taskbar at the top of the browser screen
  2. From the drop-down menu choose Preferences
  3. On the Category menu on the left, click on Advanced
  4. Then, in the bottom box labeled Cookies, make sure that the radio button next to Accept all cookies is selected
  5. Click on OK at the bottom


Netscape 6.0, 6.2, 7.0, 7.1 Enable Cookies

  1. Select Edit from the taskbar at the top of the browser screen
  2. From the drop-down menu choose Preferences
  3. On the Category menu on the left, click on on the arrow next to Advanced
  4. Then, click on Privacy and Security. A drop-down menu appears from which you select Cookies. Make sure that the radio button next to Enable all cookies is selected
  5. Click on OK at the bottom


Netscape 8 Enable Cookies

  1. Select Tools menu at the top of the browser screen.
  2. From the drop-down menu choose Options.
  3. When the Options box appears, click on the Site Controls button in the left column.
  4. Under the section labeled "Web Features" select the checkbox next to "Allow cookies" so that a checkmark appears (if it is currently unselected).
  5. Click OK to close the Options box.


Netscape 9 Enable Cookies

  1. Select Tools menu at the top of the browser screen.
  2. From the drop-down menu choose Options.
  3. When the Options box appears, click on the Privacy.
  4. From the Cookies section, click to select Accept cookies from sites.
  5. Click OK to close the Options box.


Internet Explorer 4.x Enable Cookies

  1. Select Tools from the taskbar at the top of the browser screen
  2. From the drop-down menu choose Internet Options
  3. Click the Advanced tab
  4. Go down to the Cookies section
  5. Click Always Accept Cookies
  6. Click OK
  7. Click Apply to apply the change
  8. Click OK to close the Internet Options... window


Internet Explorer 5.0 and 5.5 Enable Cookies

  1. Select Tools from the taskbar at the top of the browser screen
  2. From the drop-down menu choose Internet Options
  3. Click on the Security tab
  4. Click on the Custom Level button
  5. Scroll down to the Cookies section
  6. Make sure that Enable is selected under both Allow cookies that are stored on your computer and Allow per-session cookies (not stored)
  7. Click OK


Internet Explorer 6.0 and 7 Enable Cookies

  1. Click on Tools > Internet Options.
  2. Click on the Privacy tab.
  3. In the Privacy section, under Settings, you'll see a button labeled Advanced. Click on Advanced.
  4. In the Advanced Privacy Settings section, click on the checkbox labeled Override Automatic Cookie Handling (You'll notice that the word Accept is clicked on by default under First party cookies and Third party cookies. Leave these radio buttons checked).
  5. Click on the "Ok" button (make sure it is the Ok button for Advanced Privacy Settings, directly under the words "Always allow session cookies."
  6. You should be back in the main Privacy sections where you clicked Advanced. Under the Advanced button is a button labeled Edit. Click on Edit.
  7. In the field labeled Address of Web Site, type in www.stocksuperstars.com and then click the Allow button.
  8. Click OK.
  9. Click OK in the main Privacy section to close the Internet Options box.

AOL 7.0, 8.0, 9.0 (Built on Internet Explorer 6.0)

  1. Click on the Windows Start button (in the far left bottom corner)
  2. Go to Settings > Control Panel
  3. In the Control Panel window, double-click on Internet Options from the list of Control Panel items.

    This brings up the familiar Internet Options prompt which is normally found in IE 6.0 under Tools > Internet Options. The rest of these instructions are also listed in the procedures for IE 6.0.

  4. Click on the Privacy tab.
  5. In the Privacy section, under Settings, you'll see a button labeled Advanced. Click on Advanced.
  6. In the Advanced Privacy Settings section, click on the checkbox labeled Override Automatic Cookie Handling (You'll notice that the word Accept is clicked on by default under First party cookies and Third party cookies. Leave these radio buttons checked).
  7. Click on the "Ok" button (make sure it is the Ok button for Advanced Privacy Settings, directly under the words "Always allow session cookies."
  8. You should be back in the main Privacy sections where you clicked Advanced. Under the Advanced button is a button labeled Edit. Click on Edit.
  9. In the field labeled Address of Web Site, type in www.stocksuperstars.com and then click the Allow button.
  10. Click OK
  11. Click OK in the main Privacy section to close the Internet Options box.

Firefox 1.0 and 2.0

  1. Select Tools menu at the top of the browser screen.
  2. From the drop-down menu choose Options.
  3. When the Options box appears, click on the Privacy button in the left column.
  4. Find "Cookies" in the list of items and click on the plus sign [+] next to Cookies to expand and display the Cookies settings.
  5. The checkbox next to "Allow sites to set cookies" can be left unchecked if you prefer, but stocksuperstars.com will still need to be added as an exception. Click on the "Exceptions" button.

    Note: If you do prefer to have the "Allow web sites to set cookies" check box selected, we also recommend that you select the checkbox just below it where it says "From the originating web site only."

  6. Near the top of the Exceptions box, type in "stocksuperstars.com" in the field labeled "Address of web site." ("www" is not required.)
  7. After typing in stocksuperstars.com, you will now notice that the buttons just below that field are no longer grayed out and are now clickable. Click the "Allow" button. You should see stocksuperstars.com and the word Allow added to the site/status box. Click "OK" to close the Exceptions box.
  8. Click OK to close the Options box.

Firefox 3.0

  1. Select Tools menu at the top of the browser screen.
  2. From the drop-down menu choose Options.
  3. When the Options box appears, click on the Privacy tab.
